Among the presidents who sent their messages were Uganda’s Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Cyril Ramaphosa (South Africa), John Mahama (Ghana), and Hakainde Hichilema (Zambia).
Others included Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Adama Barrow (Gambia), Evariste Ndayishimiye (Burundi), Bola Tinubu (Nigeria), and Felix Tshisekedi (DRC), among others.
World leaders who sent their condolences included India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, United Nations Secretary-General .
Antonio Guterres, and World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
