People's Liberation Party (PLP) Leader Martha Karua has hit out at Nyeri County Governor Mutahi Kahiga for mocking the death of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader, Honorable Raila Odinga.

People's Liberation Party (PLP) Leader Martha Karua has hit out at Nyeri County Governor Mutahi Kahiga for mocking the death of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader, Honorable Raila Odinga.

In a video that is currently making rounds on social media platforms, Governor Mutahi could be heard saying that Raila's death was God's way of returning development to Mount Kenya.

Adding that development was being channeled to Nyanza and western region, he was speaking during a function in Nyeri.

His remarks caught the attention of leaders who took to their different social media platforms to call him out among them, Martha Karua.

In a post on X formerly Twitter, Karua said that the remarks made by Governor Mutahi do not represent the people of Mount Kenya.

The former prime minister of Kenya, Honorable Raila Odinga succumbed to a Cardiac arrest at the age of 80 in India Hospital, on October 15th, 2025 after collapsing while taking a walk.

He was laid to rest at his home in Bondo, Siaya County, 2 Days before these remarks were made.
