“Your Government Has Only Few Days Left” — Kahiga Sparks Laughter and Debate Telling Kindiki Face to Face

Mutahi Kahiga caused a stir during a public event in Kiambu County when he directly addressed Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, telling attendees that the current administration under President William Ruto had “only a few days left in office.”

Speaking to the crowd, Kahiga emphasized that his main priority was to ensure the people of Nyeri receive their fair share of development projects before the current term ends.

His comments drew laughter and loud cheers from residents, while several political leaders appeared taken aback by the directness of his remarks.

Interestingly, the governor stopped short of pledging support for Ruto in the 2027 General Election.

Analysts interpret his statement as a subtle signal of potential political realignment, reflecting broader uncertainty among some Mt Kenya leaders about the ruling administration’s future prospects.

While Kahiga avoided referencing any specific opposition coalition or individual, he made it clear that his loyalty lies with Nyeri residents and their development priorities.

What was intended as a forum to showcase government initiatives quickly turned into a politically charged moment, highlighting shifting alliances and strategic positioning in the region.

Political commentators note that such statements underscore the delicate balance leaders in Mt Kenya are maintaining between supporting the current government and preparing for the post-2027 electoral landscape.

Kahiga’s remarks have already sparked debate on social media and among local political circles, with many watching closely for further signals of changing loyalties.
