It is now slightly over one year to the next general election. On the ground, political heavyweights are readying themselves for a ferocious political contest.
But for the KANU party chairman Gideon Moi, his political game plan has remained a top guarded secret, leaving rivals and supporters guessing on what could be his plan going to 2027.
The former Baringo County senator lost his seat in 2022, after being defeated by the late William Cheptumo of UDA.
In the 2025 by-election, Moi opted out of the race after a meeting with President William Ruto. Seemingly, the two signed a political deal.
But the Ruto- Moi relationship appears to be on the rocks with the former senator recently hinting at revealing what they discussed.
Amid all these, what are Moi's political options going to 2027? As it stands, he is neither in broad-based government nor in the United Alternative Government. Will he approach the 2027 poll as a lone ranger?
