The veteran politician's remarks after the landmark gathering have drawn fresh attention to the coalition's renewed determination to consolidate its political strength and assemble a formidable national movement capable of challenging President William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza administration.
The meeting, chaired by Kalonzo Musyoka, marked a significant turning point for the opposition after the coalition welcomed former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i, former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya and former Senator Lenny Kivuti into the Azimio Council.
Their entry is widely being interpreted as a major political reinforcement, with the trio expected to inject fresh momentum and broaden the coalition's national appeal as preparations for the next presidential contest gather pace.
In an even bolder political manoeuvre, Azimio extended invitations to several political parties to join the expanding alliance, including Eugene Wamalwa's DAP-K, Governor Kawira Mwagaza's Umoja na Maendeleo Party, Omingo Magara's People's Democratic Party and Justin Muturi's Democratic Party.
The council also entrusted Kalonzo with the responsibility of engaging other like-minded political formations, among them the Democratic Coalition Party, the People's Liberation Party, the United Green Movement and the Linda Mwananchi movement once it is formally registered.
Ngilu's comments sparked widespread reactions from supporters, many of whom welcomed the coalition's expansion and praised the inclusion of Fred Matiang'i in the council.
Others, however, questioned the visibility of some veteran opposition leaders in recent years and urged Azimio to strengthen its engagement with the Gen Z movement.
As political temperatures continue to rise, the coalition's latest restructuring has intensified speculation that the battle for State House is entering a decisive new phase.
