Shock has hit Eastleigh after a man was brutally stabbed to death in a suspected love affair gone wrong.
The incident happened late Sunday night after the man was allegedly caught red-handed with another man’s wife inside her rented apartment.
According to reports, the deceased, who worked as a casual laborer in Nairobi, was in a secret affair with the wife of a well-known businessman who runs several shops in Eastleigh.
Neighbors said the businessman arrived home unannounced around 10 p.m.
After being informed by friends that his wife was often seen with another man whenever he traveled for work.
Sources said the businessman stormed the house, finding the two in a compromising situation.
A heated argument broke out, leading to a violent fight.
Witnesses claimed the husband grabbed a kitchen knife and attacked the man several times on the chest and neck before he collapsed and died on the spot.
Panicked neighbors who heard screams rushed to the scene but found the man lying in a pool of blood.
The woman, said to be in shock, was rescued by residents and later taken to the hospital under police escort for treatment.
Police officers from Pangani Police Station arrived shortly after and took the body to the City Mortuary.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and taken into custody for questioning as investigations continue.
Detectives believe the killing was fueled by jealousy and betrayal.
They have also recovered the murder weapon, which will be used as evidence in court.
Authorities have urged couples to resolve their marital issues peacefully and avoid taking the law into their own hands.
