Speculation Mounts as Sifuna and Wandayi Set for Explosive TV Interviews on NTV and Citizen TV

Political tension is rising ahead of scheduled live television appearances by ousted Edwin Sifuna and Opiyo Wandayi, with observers expecting major revelations on the future of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Sifuna is expected to go live on NTV Kenya on February 24, 2026, alongside other media appearances, in what many see as a crucial moment following his fallout with ODM’s top leadership.

His interview comes at a time when internal wrangles within the party have spilled into the public domain, especially after the controversial Kakamega rally led by his faction.

At the same time, Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi is scheduled to appear on Citizen TV on February 25, 2026, where he will be hosted by Yvonne Okwara.

Wandayi is expected to clarify ODM’s official position on several pressing issues, including the possible convening of the party’s National Delegates Conference (NDC), its engagement with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), and the broader strategy heading into the 2027 General Election.

The timing of the interviews has fueled speculation, particularly because Citizen TV recently hosted Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, a close ally of Sifuna, just hours after the Kakamega event.

Analysts believe the back-to-back media appearances could deepen the conversation around ODM’s internal divisions and its evolving political direction.

Sifuna is expected to address tough questions regarding his next political move, including whether he is open to working with President William Ruto, whether he plans to form a new political party, and whether he will defend his Nairobi Senate seat in the upcoming elections.

With 2027 fast approaching, the live interviews are likely to shape public perception and possibly redefine alliances within ODM and beyond. All eyes will now be on the two leaders as they take to the national airwaves.
