“Your Efforts Will Bear No Fruit” — John Mbadi Warns Sifuna Camp After Kakamega Tour

John Mbadi has broken his silence following the recent Linda Mwananchi rally in Kakamega, issuing a strong warning to opposition voices mobilizing against President William Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking on February 22, 2026, during a fundraiser for the proposed John Mbadi Osogo Senior Secondary School in Kwabwai Ward, Ndhiwa Constituency, Mbadi criticized a section of leaders within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) for what he termed as incitement and unnecessary political agitation.

Without mincing words, Mbadi took aim at the Linda Mwananchi faction associated with Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, accusing them of misleading residents of Nyanza by campaigning against Ruto’s second-term bid.

“There are leaders who incite people against Ruto’s re-election. You can do so, but your efforts will bear no fruit because Ruto will be elected again in 2027,” Mbadi declared firmly.

“There is no debate about that.”

Mbadi maintained that ODM had already made a strategic decision to support Ruto’s re-election, arguing that cooperation with the government has yielded tangible development gains for the region.

He dismissed reports of internal divisions within the party as propaganda driven by individuals pursuing personal political interests.

His remarks come just days after Sifuna’s high-profile Kakamega rally, which drew significant attention and exposed simmering tensions within ODM.

The event, marked by disruptions and heightened security concerns, underscored the growing rift between leaders aligned with the government and those advocating for a return to a more independent opposition stance.

Mbadi framed continued support for Ruto as a calculated move to ensure Nyanza remains at the center of national development, while also hinting at ODM’s long-term political calculations beyond 2027.

He urged residents to reject divisive politics and focus instead on unity and economic progress.
