Gachagua Sends Strong Message to Edwin Sifuna Ahead of Potential 2027 Presidential Bid

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has publicly encouraged Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna to pursue his ambition of becoming Kenya's president, describing the youthful politician as one of the leaders he would be willing to mentor if given the opportunity.

Speaking on Wednesday, July 22, Gachagua praised Sifuna's leadership qualities and urged him not to abandon his political aspirations despite the challenges that come with national politics.

"Edwin Sifuna, pursue your dream of becoming President. Every dream is valid. In fact, if given the opportunity, you are one of the young leaders I would like to mentor," Gachagua said.

His remarks come at a time when Sifuna has increasingly been mentioned as a possible presidential contender following the growing popularity of the Linda Mwananchi movement, which he leads. 

The movement has recently attracted significant public attention, with thousands of Kenyans supporting its activities through public fundraising and nationwide political rallies.

Gachagua's statement is likely to fuel fresh political debate, considering the two leaders have often found themselves on different sides of the country's political divide.
