The woman said the relationship began while she was working in the Gulf and ended in heartbreak after she reportedly discovered that the man was married with a child.
According to her account, she met the man, identified as Erick Munyalo, in 2023.
She claimed he serves in the General Service Unit and that although they lived in different countries, they stayed in regular contact.
Their conversations gradually developed into what she believed was a serious romantic relationship built on trust and plans for a future together.
She alleged that during the relationship, the officer frequently requested financial assistance.
He reportedly told her he needed money to meet personal expenses, respond to emergencies, support work-related commitments, and finance different investment projects.
Believing his assurances that every amount would eventually be refunded, she said she continued sending money through M Pesa over a period of more than two years.
The woman claimed the total amount she transferred exceeded KSh 300,000.
However, whenever she asked for a refund, she said she received repeated promises and excuses instead of repayment.
She further alleged that the situation changed after she accessed WhatsApp conversations linked to the officer.
According to her, the messages suggested he was communicating with several other women and that more than ten of them had also sent him money under similar circumstances without recovering it.
Her greatest shock, she said, came after learning that the officer was married and had a child.
She maintained that he had never disclosed his family status and had instead convinced her that he was single and genuinely committed to their relationship.
The woman's story has attracted widespread attention on social media, with many people expressing sympathy for her experience.
She has urged others to thoroughly verify the background of romantic partners before sending money, particularly in long-distance relationships where trust can easily be abused.
